President*
Our current fearless leader’s term expires at the end of this school year. We’re looking for a creative problem-solver who is comfortable delegating and who can help us focus on the agenda instead of talking about our kids or the latest true crime podcast. A sense of humor is a big plus – and if you know how to say “no” without provoking a tantrum, even better! If you’re ready to play a substantial role in supporting our school, we want to hear from you!
* This is an elected position with potential two year term.
-
President Elect*
So you’d like to get more involved in the PTA, but you’re not sure you’re ready to take the lead role? Our vice president position has your name written all over it! You’ll learn behind-the-scenes intel and be part of decision-making on important issues throughout the year. You’ll help the president get things done—kind of like a superhero’s sidekick, but without the costume.
* This is an elected position with a potential two-year term.
-
Secretary*
Be honest—you’re the one in your friend group who filled out every page in your child’s baby book...at the right time, no less. If you’re the kind of person who documents everything, from your toddler’s first steps to how far you jogged yesterday, we have the perfect role for you. You’ll get to put your stellar record keeping skills and attention to detail to good use as our PTA secretary. You must have good listening and computer skills—and extra credit if you can follow what’s on TV and play Candy Crush at the same time.
* This is an elected position with potential two year term.

Fundraising Coordinator
The PTA does a lot more than fundraising, but let’s face it, without fundraising, we wouldn’t be able to do much. We’re seeking an upbeat, detail-oriented parent to coordinate our fundraising efforts this year. The ideal candidate is able to motivate students and parents, can think on their feet, and can handle last-minute surprises without totally freaking out (like product deliveries getting delayed because of a freak weather event—but, really, there’s almost no chance of that happening again...right?).
-
Communications Chair
If you spend more time on instagram than you do sleeping (we won’t judge), then this could be the perfect role for you! The Communications Chair is responsible for keeping everyone in the loop, whether it's through emails, flyers, or shouting from the rooftops (okay, maybe not that last one). You'll need to be able to communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and the principal, all while maintaining a sense of humor and sanity.
Your duties will include creating newsletters, managing the PTA's social media accounts, and sending out reminders for meetings and events (because let's face it, we all need a little nudge sometimes).
-
Volunteer Coordinator
Are you a people person who isn’t afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger? We’re looking for a volunteer coordinator to recruit helpers for PTA programs and events and to help parents find the best way to plug in to our school community. If you’re enthusiastic (without being high-pressure) and understanding of parents’ many time constraints, raise your hand and help us do even more great things for our school!
-
Community Involvement Chair
Do you love planning events that bring people together? If you're someone who loves to create a positive impact and have a blast doing it, then we're looking for someone just like you to fill our Community Involvement Chair position! You'll be responsible for planning and executing events that engage our community and promote goodwill. Whether it's organizing a Field Day, coordinating a Food Drive, or hosting a Movie Night, you'll be the driving force behind events that everyone will be talking about."

PTA Member
We believe that many hands make light work, so even small contributions go a long way! If you're not quite ready to commit to a chair position, but still want to make a positive impact, we invite you to join and volunteer in any capacity.
Joining PTA doesn’t mean getting sucked into a black hole of constant volunteering hours. Our success is based on the understanding that we are all busy, we will all need to put our families first, we are all running on caffeine, and we all hate cutting paper. From that starting point, we try to make the best of the mundane projects (caffeine helps), and only take on what is reasonable to get done amid work, children, and all the stuff of life that every mother/parent/teacher deals with. We aren’t a bunch of adults with nothing better to do. We just want to make sure the school has the money and support to provide the little extras that make elementary a memorable time for our children.
